BBQ Chicken On The Grill

“Schenck Family Style”


  • Chicken BBQ Sauce Of Your Choice
  • 1 Whole Chicken (2 to 2 1/2 lb Fryer) Split in Half
  • 1 Whole Chicken (2 to 2 1/2 lb Fryer) Split in Half
  • 1/2 Pint Water
  • 1/2 Pint Vinegar
  • 1/4 lb Butter
  • 3 Tablespoon Salt
  • 2 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce


Combine ingredients and bring to a boil. Keep hot until ready to baste with a small brush or use as a spray. Use a 2 to 2 ½ lb large fryer split in half. Grill slowly over low heat. Should take 1 ½ to 1 ¾ hours to cook. The leg bone should twist easily within the meat and the wing should break from the joint easily.

Grilled B. S. Chicken Breast

  • 2 Chicken Breasts
  • 1/4 cup Chicken Teriyaki Sauce (Kikkoman’s)
  • 1/4 cup Stubbs Teriyaki Marinate Sauce
  • 1/8 cup Jed Clampitt’s Beverly Hillbilly Glaze


Shake mixture well. Take the skinless, boneless chicken breast and place in a large zip lock bag. Pour mixture into bag. Refrigerate overnight. Place chicken on grill and cook approximately 3-4 minutes per side. Turn chicken only once, then reapply excess marinate. You can also grill your vegetables along with the chicken using the same marinate.
