Texas Backyard Barbecue Spare Ribs
Here's a killer recipe for your BBQ, we call it Texas Backyard Barbecue Spare Ribs!
- 2 Slabs Pork Spareribs
- 1 Cup Ketchup
- 1 ½ Cups Of Cherry Coke
- ¼ Cup Worcestershire Sauce
- ¼ Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- 2 Teaspoons Chili Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Freshly Ground Black Pepper
- 2 Teaspoons Paprika
- 1 Medium Sweet Onion, Chopped
You are going to want to cook these on a medium-hot grill. However you will want to offset your coals so you can cook the ribs on an indirect heat. You can do this either by banking your coals off to one side or using a catch pan and building your fire on each side. Do not cook these on a direct fire! Also if you have limited space, you can cut the two racks into four pieces, merely cutting between the ribs. This will give you more cooking space, then place on grill rib side down.
In a saucepan mix all marinade ingredients and allow to simmer for approximately 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally so as to not burn the mixture. Next apply the mix (brushing) to your ribs being very generous with the sauce while cooking. You will want to reapply about every 30 minutes or so and turning every time you baste, until your ribs have a nice even glaze.
