Texas Apple Kuchen
Apple Kuchen, Texas Style
- 1 Package Yellow Cake Mix
- 2 ½ Cups Sliced Granny Smith Apples, Pared
- ½ Cup Sweet Cream Butter
- ½ Cup Flaked Coconut
- ½ Cup Sugar
- 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
- ½ Cup Finely Chopped Texas Pecans
- 1 Cup Sour Cream
- 2 Farm Fresh Egg Yolks
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Cut butter into dry cake mix until crumbly. Next mix in the coconut. Pat mixture lightly in ungreased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake 10 minutes.
Arrange apple slices on warm crust. Combine the sugar, cinnamon, and nuts; and then sprinkle on the apples. Blend sour cream and egg yolks then drizzle over apples.
Bake 25 minutes or until light brown. Do not over bake. Serve warm. Enjoy!!
